PRAIRIE stone Cleaning Instructions

General

Keep PRAIRIE stone units clean during the laying process.

Test unexposed portions of adjacent metal fixtures with the cleaning solution. If a corrosive stain occurs, then protect the exposed portions.

Protect adjacent masonry and other non-masonry areas by saturating with water and flushing away cleaning solutions prior to it drying.

Materials

2 plastic or hard rubber buckets
Soft fiber masonry brushes (whitewash brushes are adequate)
Wooden or other soft non-staining scraping devices
Ample supply of clean lint-free cloths or paper towels
Clean water
Recommended cleaners:
Burnished Custom Masonry Cleaner (diluted 1:4 by ProSoCo Inc.)
Custom Masonry Block Cleaner (diluted 1:6 by ProSoCo Inc.)
Vanatrol (diluted 1:6 by ProSoCo Inc.)

Procedure

Brush clean water on surface area to be cleaned. Clean one area at a time (approximately 5' x 5'). It is essential hat the masonry wall be kept wet at all times. Do not use dirty water.

Apply cleaning solution, brushing in a circular motion to remove any mortar. Remove excess mortar with the soft scraping device and re-apply cleaning solution. You may use a pressure sprayer to clean.

Allow cleaning solution to remain on the surface for two or three minutes then proceed to wash off with liberal amounts of clean water.

Thoroughly wipe walls dry with clean dry towels.
